Weird dreams when I nap instead of sleeping at night. I am tasked by my neighbor Alan Rickman to pick up Snickers ice cream bars for our mutual friend, Pam Grier, who is getting too thin, because they are her favorite. I walk to the store twice past suburban homes with miniature versions of international landmarks as yard art (meeting Buffy Summers on patrol once, who remarks that she loves Tiny Notre Dame) because I got potato crisps the first time and forgot the treats. I run into Tim Gunn and Pam Grier (separately) at the grocery store, which is laid out like a maze and has too many non-grocery things. Pam is taking an ikebana flower arranging class at the grocery store. No one in her class is doing it right, their arrangements are all too busy and Westernized. I don't comment, though I took an ikebana class years ago. I get back to ice cream fetching. Tim catches me testing giant designer perfumes in bottles the size of cinderblocks. My signature scent by Karl Lagerfeld is not there. The Marc Jacobs scent smells like nothing at all and I wonder if I'm noseblind to it. Tim is eager to surprise Pam with the ice cream and gets me back on task.
