Alright nerds explain this please I found an img of shrek from google (image 1). It has transparency, it's not one of those frauds. I saved it to my computer (image 2). The preview shows transparency. But in unity, the background is restored!! (image 3)

My uninformed bro science explanation is that transparency is defined independently from the img bitmap. So the image could be complete, but have transparency defined and in those cases it's up to whatever's rendering the img to respect the transparency? I literally made this up 2 avoid reading tho
