The Lakes International Comics Art Festival - or "LICAF" to its many friends - is the best comic festival in the UK and this year is in Bowness on Windermere from 26 to 28 September.
One of my all-time favourite images of Bryan's: Hiram Kowolsky sitting in his room on London Bridge, just after the Royalist massacre from the #AdventuresOfLutherArkwright: known as the "I am the light of the world" panel due to the poster on the wall behind him.

It was a protest against proposed homophobic legislation in the UK in 1988 and showed what would happen if all fey and homosexual influences were removed from society. Bryan said "It appeared in the benefit comic AARGH! (Artists Against Rampant Government Homophobia) published by Alan Moore's Mad Love imprint and was my first collaboration with Neil."
