Hey Everyone. Our aim is to ship Early Access for UE6 by the end of 2027 and Blueprints will be supported in Early Access and the initial UE6 releases, but deprecated in the future. Deprecation will mean a feature continues to be available without improvements, then is eventually removed. This timeline will be clearly communicated along with ways to migrate projects to Verse. We recognize the value that Blueprints brought to UE4 and 5, but we strongly believe that Verse will become a more powerful and capable way to create game logic. We’ve already seen both experienced and new programmers create amazing things with Verse that would be challenging to do with Blueprints. More details and conversations from us around this to come as UE6 Early Access approaches.

#3: We are in a hardware component crisis. When I joined as CEO in February, the price we paid for console storage components was over 2x as high as we paid last fall. These costs have since doubled again. And as we plan for the 2027 holiday season, we expect another significant increase, taking us over 5x the prices we paid only two years earlier. Memory costs have followed a broadly similar trajectory. While the entire industry is facing a components crisis, we believe we have been impacted more greatly than many of our peers due to the choices we made over the last half decade. We are currently unable to make as many consoles as players want to buy, and we need a new business model and partnerships for hardware as we remain committed to Helix

In conversations with various Telltale Games alumni over the years, we've heard repeatedly that executive leadership at the studio pressed developers to follow a repetitive formula for each of its games. Some developers have said that formula led to declining interest in its games. "We didn't really follow that approach," Ottilie said when asked about the making of The Wolf Among Us 2. "We came at this from 'what's the best story we can tell here? How are we going to do that? What's that feel like?'" He said his approach as CEO was to choose the game's creative leadership and then "get out of their way." "It's not my job to go into the room and second-guess how they want to tell a story," he said, adding that while he is giving feedback and offering suggestions, he avoids being prescriptivist in his approach. He did say that some Telltale design knowledge—like the amount of time players should go without pushing a button onscreen—is still with the studio, but The Wolf Among Us 2 won't be following a familiar roadmap. On the topic of improper crediting, Ottilie actually said he "wasn't aware" of the company's history with that practice. "From our perspective, [proper crediting] is pretty mandated," he promised. "People get job titles and have descriptions, and that's what they're doing on the game. Their credit will reflect what they're doing on the game." "My [vice president] of operations will put my head in a box if I try to change that."

Hasbro has focused more on video games in recent years, placing big bets on expensive productions such as the upcoming sci-fi title Exodus, which is slated for release in 2027. But the toy and gaming company, which also operates the highly profitable Magic: The Gathering card game, has indicated a desire to cut costs. The cancelation of the Giant Skull deal, which hasn’t been previously reported, took place alongside a larger reorganization at Wizards of the Coast that also included the closure of subsidiary Atomic Arcade. Asmussen said he had enjoyed working with Wizards of the Coast and that he was talking to people there and at other companies about potential new publishing deals. “Things are good at Giant Skull,” he said.
Last June, Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast subsidiary said it was partnering with Giant Skull on an action-adventure game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, calling it “a definitive moment in both companies’ gaming ambitions.” But Wizards of the Coast pulled out of the deal earlier this year, the company told Bloomberg News. “We assess concepts at every stage of development,” a spokesperson for Wizards of the Coast said, adding that the company was still taking new pitches from Giant Skull. “While we decided not to pursue an early concept from Giant Skull, we have great respect for Stig Asmussen and his team and value our ongoing relationship,” the spokesperson said.

Alex Jones was in Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly. Obviously, a lot's changed since then. When's the last time that you spoke to him? [Laughs] Alex was just this guy on public access TV. I liked his energy, but he was kind of a joke. I got to know him a little bit because he was in Waking Life and Scanner, doing some weird version of himself in both cases. He's not really an actor, so I haven't really talked to him since the Obama years. I guess there's a part of me now that's surprised, because he never seemed like that to me. I can't say he's not a good manipulator. I can't say l've really known him these years. Really bizarre.
