Suddenly more detail is visible that wasn't visible before, represented by highlights and more depth in shading. Both come from the same game, same developers, and artists, but completely change how that art is represented. The difference comes from limitations of the lighting engine and hardware.

The more lighting we can account for the more dramatic the image will change from lighting engines with less lighting detail. RT improves upon rasterization lighting, and PT includes more lighting than RT. But with today's hardware, PT is still limited by ray count, materials, and denoising.
