Science fiction, movies, robots, Cambridge-UK based, don't eat nearly as much chocolate as when I first wrote my profile but I do much more sewing.

Once I've done another side, corner, side, corner, side I'll be able to join it up to the first corner. It has a solid border but each band of stitching leaves decorative holes.

A workshop bench, on it a sample section of plasterboard stud wall about 40cm by 30cm. It has lots of fixings on it, hooks and screws and a tiny shelf and some skirting board.

A quilted patchwork tote bag hanging in a sun beam from a door handle. Bright blues, yellows, oranges, pinks and a couple of creamy whites, interlocking windmill design. The handles and borders are dark blue and you can just see a pale bluey green batik lining.
Patchwork: three by five five-inch squares in bright pink, blue and white. There's a three-inch border in a different blue. The border should be nice long strips but there's a seam in each long side piece, and the top and bottom borders are just flaps, overlapping in places. There is a clear plastic square template sitting at the join of four large squares, to show how I'm going to cut this large piece down into several smaller squares at an angle.

A greetings card, white front with a 6cm aperture. There is an appliqué daffodil, green background, yellow petals, orange trumpet, with zigzag stitching, and tiny stamens. Three of the leaves have been cut large and extend over the edge of the aperture. Skill level: careful beginner, bit wonky.
Appliqué butterfly, dark green and mottled paler green wings sewn around the edges with green zigzags. Brown mottled abdomen, sewn with brown zigzags which overlap the edges of the fabric piece to try to look like a fuzzy body. Antennae machine embroidered in the same golden brown thread. The background fabric is pale cream with a subtle darker cream corn/wheat ear design. The whole thing is about 25cm across.
