The text says: Jenna Conklin is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Boston University with experience in second language acquisition, vowel acoustics, and laboratory phonology. Her research focuses on understanding the formal and cognitive restrictions on harmony processes, using both formal and experimental methods to explore the limits natural languages places on possible harmony processes. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and settling down with a good book.

Mike writes the following: "I work on the relationship between meaning and syntactic structure and the ways that people classify events and their participants. As part of my work, I do field work on the Uto-Aztecan language O’dam, spoken in southern Durango, Mexico. My dissertation research looked at how grammatical functions are distinguished in O’dam and since then, I have been interested in the ways that lexical, or root, meaning affects the ways that verbs are augmented. I earned my PhD at The University of Texas in 2023 and have been teaching at BU since then. Besides linguistics, I like riding my bike, listening to Metal and watching Tottenham try its best to stay in the upper half of the Premier League."
