6 years ago, one of my closest friends took his own life. Since that day, I've had recurring nightmares where I see a pyramid in the distance, acting as a threshold between the living and the dead, almost like a train station to the Great Beyond. It's both ironic and cosmically fitting how one of the grandest and longest standing constructions we've ever built as a species, is barely more than a tomb. Entire empires deemed too great to fall have been outlasted by a monument to death itself.
