Some features are whizbang — genuinely exciting, game-changing additions to Buttondown's surface area that radically transform how you use the tool. Others are, uh, more esoteric. More mundane, perhaps. "Webhooks for exports" is one of those esoteric features. Our statistics show that not that many of you use webhooks (they're a niche feature!), and the venn diagram of people who use webhooks and people who use exports is... well, small.

A walkthrough on how to enable a Discord webhook on Buttondown. First, we head to the Integrations settings page in Buttondown, click in "Setup webhook" under "Discord webhook". We get redirected to Discord, select the server and channel to connect, and click on Connect. We then get redirected to Buttondown to choose the events to get notified of.

I run from my email. Email is terrible. The niche that Buttondown solved for me was helping me wean off social media while still being able to communicate with the folks I wanted to communicate with. As a writer, it's very important to me to have a writing habit. So knowing that I have to put out a weekly newsletter is crucial, even if it's a self-imposed deadline.

Email newsletters are one of the only places that indie writers are safe from temperamental algorithms and data that’s locked into a single platform. Working with a newsletter app that has a toxic community? Export your subscriber list and move to another. Worried that your emails are getting buried in your subscribers’ inboxes? Try sending it on a different day. You’re in control, and should never put that at risk by shilling low-quality books as part of a quid pro quo arrangement. That starts with creating a general structure and vibe for your newsletters. How many recommendations will you include in each newsletter? Will you write about the books you recommend, or toss the cover image and a link at the bottom of the page? Kirsten Oliphant of Create If Writing says “I’ll often give a brief, personal review. I’ve found that it can help increase the clicks.” And when readers click, you know your crossover is working.

Among the most agreeable 1 of all small housedogs, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a strong, athletic, and lively little herder who is affectionate and companionable without being needy. They are one the world's most popular herding breeds. At 10 to 12 inches at the shoulder and 27 to 30 pounds, a well-built male Pembroke presents a big dog in a small package. Short but powerful legs, muscular thighs, and a deep chest equip him for a hard day's work. Built long and low, Pembrokes are surprisingly quick and agile. They can be red, sable, fawn, and black and tan, with or without white markings. The Pembroke is a bright, sensitive dog who enjoys play with his human family and responds well to training. As herders bred to move cattle, they are fearless and independent. They are vigilant watchdogs, with acute senses and a 'big dog' bark. Families who can meet their bold but kindly Pembroke's need for activity and togetherness will never have a more loyal, loving pet.

With Buttondown, the email newsletters you receive will be generated from the RSS feed from the Club website, eliminating the entire assembly process. To say that I’m excited to have those hours back each month would be a vast understatement. I’m also happy to have a system in place that should reduce the assembly errors that occasionally crept into our newsletters in the past.
