This has been St. Louis’ defensive philosophy all season: if you compete hard enough for pucks and forecheck with enough aggression in the offensive and neutral zones, you can prevent having to spend time in your defensive zone altogether, making matters such as net-front defence less relevant to the overall play of the team.
