I have been far out of both the Halo and Xbox ecosystem for quite sometime. This is obviously due to the laundry list of reasons and choices from the corporations, developers, and the political backing of Microsoft in AI assisted Genocide. In participating in the BDS Boycott of Xbox and other Microsoft products I have kept tabs through your videos Mint, as Halo was in fact the franchise that made me fall in love with video games. I have hope that we will come out of this storm, and that eventually this will mean good Halo games in the coming decades (I am not convinced of Campaign Evolved's mission as a Halo Reboot). However, if all of this is in the name accountability I struggle to see how the answer is simply cutting 3,200 positions. Yes the company is bloated and mismanaged, it's contributed to the decline of the industry and all of the developers and games we love so dearly. But the priority is always a shareholder's bottom line . "The last guy spent too much money on a shopping spree, so we are firing 3,200 people" doesn't inspire me. Yes there is more transparency with this email, yes the CEO is being clear about her goals and 'not making this decision lightly', and yes they are negotiating the selling or independence of some of the studios bought. But she is still a CEO, and she works for Microsoft, not the players. The whole reason she was hired was purely financial. Something also not mentioned in this video, which has been corroborated by Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, is that only 1,600 of these positions will be dissolved at the beginning of the FY. The other 1,600 will be let go later in the restructuring of this 'Reset', with no known idea of what departments or positions they could be. These people will have to go to work everyday not knowing if they will have a job next week or a year from now. None of this clears the profoundly dark sanguine bad blood that they built over the past decade. Especially if their answer is 3,200 people losing their…
