I'm sorry....I assumed you were 🇨🇦! Open carry of firearms has been illegal for decades as have automatic weapons. The laws in Canada around firearms is very different from the US. I do not advocate for wanting US style firearms rules here. What we have is fine, but these new bans are silly.
