So there were three cases today. Apparently they called in just enough people to fill the pools for all three cases (or not, we’ll get to that in a moment). They called each court’s list of prospective jurors, took the questionnaire and handed you a badge. I was #44 in the second court’s list. Then we waited for them to come call us up to the actual courtroom for voir dire. Except after a little bit, they came back and called each person on the second court’s list and had us all turn in the badge we’d been given. They told us the case in that court was now “off”. Then the first court came back in and called off some new names that were people who had been in the second court group. They now had new badges. Apparently that court, now that there were extra people available, wanted more people in its pool.
