The flower petals are shaped like a vase. There is a green circle at the center. It looks like a landing place for bees to gather pollen.

A silver colander filled with various sizes of garlic heads attached to their dried out stems. These garlic heads are a creamy white tinges with a purplish red.

This is a giant green leaf from a very plant. It is about 11 inches in length and 6 inch is wide. Some of the beet leaves have reddish pink stems. There is one peaking out at the top left.

These beets were just pulled from the ground. You can see both their leaves and their roots. The color of the stems are a magenta, almost hot pink. Garlic scapes are the stems for the flowers, so they are long and green, almost tubular. This variety of garlic has scapes that curl, so it looks like a spiral. At the tip is a pointy flower bud that will open if I let it.

Catnip and catmint look similar except that the catnip at the bottom of the frame has larger leaves. The catmint in the back has tiny leaves and tiny, purple flowers. That is a sunflower stalk to the right. It will flower soon.
The crinkled leaves surrounding the sunflower buds hold tow critter. In the left side of the bud is a red ladybug showing a few of its black spots. Nested inside of the leaves is a harvestman spider. Only its long spindled legs jut out. It is hidden very cleverly.
On vibrant red poppy stands out in the center of this photo. While there are several other red poppies surrounding it, the one in the center almost seems to be boldly staring at the camera as its petals circle the black center.
A lovely rendition of a bird. I think it is a house sparrow. Definitely house sparrow-ish. To the left of the drawing is the sentence, “I applaud your genuinely epic horseshit.”
So much green surrounds the spout where I have placed the planters. In this photo, only a corner of the wooden rectangular planter shows. A stick identifying the seeds that I planted says “Red Mountain Lettuce.” The grey-brown trunk of the young catulpa tree is off to the left.

Garlic scapes can be tall stalks with a flower bud at the top, or curly stalks with a flower. Both are represented here and are resting in a colander on top of my green and purple peas. I was too lazy to get a separate container for them.
This salsify flier is bright yellow with thing spiked petals. Towards the middle, the petals get smaller and closer together.
A pile of pea pods. Some are bright green. Other pods are deep purple. The pods range in length from 1.5 to 2 inches. They are in a shiny silver colander.
Climbing a wire trellis are study green pea plants with deep purple pea pods.
Very close to the camera are clusters of bright yellow flowers on a buckwheat plant. The plant is surrounded by others that are in various stages of spring bloom. To the left is lemon balm, with serrated green leaves. Later on it will produce tall flower stalks. To the right of the buckwheat is a cone flower. It’s broad leaves are a nice contrast to the small buckwheat flowers. In background looms the goldenrod. That plant will have profuse yellow flowers on tall stalks in the fall. Bees love it.
