It was a rigorous defence, but also one of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Looking at the calligraphy beside my desk, I'm reminded of ichigo ichie: treasure this moment, because it will never happen again.

Huge congratulations, Dr James. A rigorous viva you came through is a rare and hard earned thing, and you absolutely deserve to savor every bit of that new title.
The viva challenged me, stretched me, and ultimately affirmed years of work. Now it becomes a memory, and a lesson I can carry forward into my #Alt-Ac journey as an educational consultant, helping others navigate their own academic paths. Carpe diem. Onwards.
