With 27 years of public school teaching I have seen so many things pushed on us based on poorly done studies (see also - “learning styles”), often one study that then gets seen as gospel and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

I wonder if there's more nuance happening already (certainly in UK schools). I think the EEF work around scaffolding (and self-regulation) is pretty influential and that has a focus on starting with less support and reacting gradually with more, which seems to fit with the new suggestions.
