On this Easter Monday we join with our brothers and sisters around the world as we pray for the repose of the soul of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. Although we are saddened by this great loss, we are comforted in knowing that Pope Francis now shares in the full joy of Easter in the resurrection of Christ.

Pope Francis dedicated his life in service to the Lord, tirelessly praying for the poor and the marginalized. In his message of hope on Easter, Pope Francis prayed for peace throughout the world: "There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for the views of others." His words reflect the charisms of both the Servants of Mary and Marian.

On this day, I invite all of us to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves, those who come from distant lands, bringing unfamiliar customs, ways of life and ideas. Please remember all of us are children of God.

We pray for those who will come together to prayerfully select the successor of Pope Francis, that God will lead them to the new Holy Father.
