You want to be helpful. Responsive. “On it.”
But being always on is quietly exhausting - and it’s not sustainable.

You’re allowed to:
⏸️ Let a message sit for a while before reading it or responding
to it.
⏸️ Finish the thing you’re doing first. Prioritise as you go.
⏸️ Say, “I’ll get back to you this afternoon / tomorrow /
next week.”

Stress Awareness Month
You don’t have to scare people into action or be the driver of their anxiety. Not a nice position to be in.

Instead of:
❌ “Act now!”
❌ “Don’t miss out!”
❌ “Time is running out!”

Try:
✅ “We’re here when you’re ready.”
✅ “Support us in the way that works for you.”
✅ “This might help – take a look.”

Concise – Cut the fluff.
People don’t need to read 12 paragraphs. A shorter email is often a more thoughtful one.

Considerate – Add warmth, even in a rush. A quick “no rush” or “happy Friday!” might sound small — but it makes your message more human.

Write the first draft badly. Perfectionism is exhausting. First drafts are meant to be messy.
Say “can this wait?” You don’t need to be available immediately, all the time. Not everything is urgent.
Use a template. Rewriting from scratch every time = stress. Blank pages are scary. Reuse what works.
Step away from your inbox. 10 mins of fresh air > 30 mins of scattered replying or paralysis.
