This is the one I just pulled out of my car at 175k. If you look closely you'll see why. While the Global C-Car platform was pretty mature by the time my car was designed, my C-Max had a particular quirk of its own: it's a hybrid. This means both a lot more torque, and also regenerative braking.

Remember, the transmission wants to spin on its upper mounts as it applies torque to the wheels. It has a *lot* of torque, only beaten by the Focus RS. Regen braking is more powerful than old school engine braking, so it will want to twist backwards as the vehicle slows down too. This is rough.
