Kirk Becker @cepheus.us · Dec 26 Fact checking for newspapers is so bad sometimes. Of the dates listed from an article in the Gainesville Sun today (a Gannett newspaper), they say 8 of the last 9 inaugurations also coincided with the MLK holiday. This could not be further from the truth.

Of these days listed, only the following days have inauguration day and MLK holiday all on the same day: 1/20/1997 & 1/20/2025 The other days do not fall on a Monday, which is when the federal holiday for MLK is celebrated. Calendars are fairly patterned, with 6, 11 and 28 year cycles. #tmyk
