Newsletter: "Because I live on the East Coast but work for a Texas-based company, it’s taken a minute for me to adjust to the time zone difference. That’s why I’ve challenged myself to make the time difference work for me. Starting this week, I’ve made it a goal to watch one (1) horror movie every morning before work. And while I plan to use this time for movies in my backlog, I’m particularly interested in horror movies I ruled out years ago that might be worth a second look. Movies like David Slade’s adaptation of 30 Days of Night. When 30 Days of Night hit theaters, I probably wasn’t the ideal audience member. For one, I grew up in Alaska and was pretty snooty about my home state’s depiction in film (get fucked, The Proposal). At the same time, as a recent college graduate, I had some pretty strong opinions about what was and wasn’t horror worth my time and attention."
