Forgotten by the outside world, home to ex-humans who have mutated into animal shapes, as well as Baelies, ghosts of past celebrities who seeped back up to ground level from the secret wraeums beneath. The mutants wage new waves of musical warfare against the corporates housed in Spearmint Tower and defy their secret police daily. Until... The good mutantfolk of Graydnmuch, it turns out, are connected by an unconscious psychic frequency some call the Morad Way. Hackers from inside the Spearmint Tower - treating the Way as a kind of computer network - have found ways to intrude, and the resulting shock has knocked its nodes unconscious. Now the Morad Way is a tangled and impenetrable mess. Luckily, six especially alert mutant minds have generated a number of nixies. These once playful river faeries are reborn as digital antibodies and protectors of the Morad Way. The centrepiece of the outfit is a magical nixie thimble; it is used to reclaim unwanted elements in the environment, to be stored as creative energy which can later be extruded into craft material.

Two teen nixies skulk through the monk's chambers, clearly trespassing for mischief. They get bored fast; one points two fingers at the other and makes a percussive sound with his lips; 'DOOJ! DOOJ!' The shot nixie drops to his knees with a hoarse gasp, then staggers back to his feet, unsure and grasping ahead, walking the dead man's walk before bending double over an altar to die, giggling constantly. The disinterested monks placidly shake their heads. A tolling bell rouses two sleeping monks. Both of them clear their eyes, adjust their robes and snuff out the candle beside them with one pinch, between finger and thumb. It takes each the exact same amount of time. You smile as you realize they compete for perfection. An uncomfortable-looking nixie in a brown smock reaches into their own mouth to probe the sharp edge of a broken tooth. They grunt. They make a despairing face. A venerable monk gasps suddenly and begins to brush herself down. She blinks madly and struggles, almost like she believes she's being swallowed by sand; with both arms she starts to dig away desperately from some threat. You notice one of the flagstones beneath your feet; it's cracked and one corner has come dislodged, no doubt from the agitation of constant sweeping. As you look, the monks around you also regard the broken piece with displeasure. Bats flit high above you in the vaulted ceilings.

Not to be out-done, the two baelies set their sights on another nixie nearby, swooping towards her as she sits with back turned, enjoying the warmth of a roasting pit. One perches on her shoulder, the other rests in her lap, but she acknowledges neither landing. You must aid the woman before she becomes possessed! Not only is it your duty as a priestess of Sylveree, this other nixie who seems comfortable in this new, twisted Morad Way could lend you guidance.
