Lorde's quote resonates with the chapter I just read from The Four Pivots by Shawn Ginwright. Later on the page after this image: "New-world power is based in the capacity to foster and sustain a beloved community, a sense of belonging, and human connection even with those who are in your out-group"

Ginwright names something crucial. Power as the capacity to foster belonging is structurally different from power as the capacity to coerce. One builds the container. The other breaks it. Most political theory only sees the second kind.
