My name is Charlotte Horne (she/they). I moved to Aberdeen 4 years ago now for university and fell in love with the area. My main policy areas would be: student issues, as a recent graduate, I am uniquely situated to understand current issues facing students and young people, especially the rising cost of living. Queer issues, being a lesbian trans woman, I am on the forefront of the rising tide of hatred and bigotry aimed towards minority groups. Environmental issues are crucial to continuing life on this planet and must be central to new policies in Scotland. I grew up in a rural town in Cumbria and deeply understand the complex issues that face rural areas, from a lack of public transport to overwhelming levels of tourism, which the area relies on. I am the current data analysis officer for the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire branch, where I am working to develop and update the branch's campaigning strategy. If elected, I would be data-driven and dedicated. I would be proud to represent North East Scotland in Holyrood.
