While county commissioners did not restore the funding for the Chapel Hill library, they did agree to slow down the phaseout. If adopted as agreed upon Thursday, the county will draw down funding for the library over the next three years rather than two, giving the institution and the town government more time to adjust.

Foushee has in reported cash on hand DURHAM, NC — In the first day of her campaign for Congress in North Carolina's 4th Congressional District, Durham County Commissioner Nida Allam raised over $200,000 from grassroots supporters. She received over 3,500 donations with an average donation of $58. In contrast, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee's current reported cash on hand is less than that at $118,000. Nida also raised more in the first day of her campaign than Congresswoman Foushee raised in the last two quarters combined, $152,000. While $0 of Nida's fundraising comes from corporate PACS, Rep. Foushee has continued to cash corporate PAC checks from Big Pharma, Big Tech, Wall Street, Walmart, and corporate defense contractors.
