“People my kids’ age hate the parties,” Bennet said during a June 4 debate. “They don’t believe that they’re standing for them.” During an earlier forum on housing policy alongside Attorney General Phil Weiser, Bennet inveighed against state and federal policy interventions that have enriched some people but “made it impossible for young people and working people” to buy homes over the last 10 to 15 years. “The reality is that people of my generation, and Phil’s generation, have benefited from a ridiculous increase in our asset prices, and we have rolled up the carpet on everybody else,” Bennet said. “You see the massive intervention … to inflate the stock market, to inflate the assets of people living in the wealthiest neighborhoods, in the largest houses in Colorado — very clearly to the detriment of the people who work in our restaurants, who work in our schools, who serve in our police department and our firefighters.”
Frankly, this was not the way I would have wanted to end my career in politics, but I'm proud of my accomplishments from protecting the environment and cleaning up toxic waste to jumpstarting research that will cure previously deadly diseases to fighting for reproductive rights. In future days, I will have more to say about the state of our democracy and politics. The challenges Trump and his cronies pose are only the start. Just yesterday, the Supreme Court made the threat even more immediate in their campaign finance ruling. Weiser has an even bigger lead at 54-37 among those who have already returned their ballots. The race is much tighter at 36-34 among those who haven't returned them yet. Weiser is winning thanks to a 62-21 advantage among younger voters. Bennet is up 43-37 with the rest of the electorate but that's not nearly enough to make up for the lopsided margin with voters under 45.

Michael Bennet in Colorado’s June 30 Democratic primary for Governor, according to results of a Public Policy Polling poll released today. The survey of likely Democratic primary voters found 45% supported Weiser, 36% supported Bennet, and 19% were still undecided. Support for Weiser has increased by 15 points since a June 2 PPP survey found him at 30%. Bennet’s support is stagnant, with the same percentage (36%) of support in this survey as he had earlier this month. “It’s clear that Weiser’s people-powered, Colorado-focused campaign is striking a chord over Bennet’s billionaire-backed, D.C-driven effort,” said Curtis Hubbard, a spokesman for Fighting for Colorado, which paid for the poll. “Mike Bloomberg spending nearly $5 million to support Bennet and the Senator's still having to 'loan' his campaign $1 million at the last minute are signs of a flailing effort that is not connecting with voters.” The poll of 600 likely Democratic primary voters was conducted June 24-25 via landline and text by Public Policy Polling for Fighting for Colorado. It has a margin of error of ± 4%.

Neither Leading the Future nor Public First, the main Anthropic-allied super PAC and Mr. Bores’s main backer in New York, has publicly spent money in the Colorado race. That is in part because, at this point, Mr. Rutinel is considered to be in a strong position to win the primary. It is also in part because of pressure from allies of Representative Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader. Unlike Mr. Bores’s deep-blue seat, the district in which Mr. Rutinel is running, Colorado’s Eighth, is expected to be a top battleground in November. To help protect Mr. Jeffries’s bid to become speaker, his allies at the main super PAC for House Democrats, House Majority PAC, have discouraged the top A.I. groups from spending in the race, according to two people with knowledge.
Groups spending on DeGette’s behalf include Pro-Choice Majority Action, a PAC linked to Elect Democratic Women; Project 218, which has spent on behalf of other incumbent or moderate candidates in other Democratic House primaries across the country; and the Mile High Accountability Project, a newly registered group.
