Project manager for a not-for-profit computer refurbishing project. We refurbish computers with Linux. Occasional gamedev using gamemaker, aseprite, gimp, inkscape, and other software on Linux. Started computing with a c64. Canadian.

Fedora KDE on a Core 2 Duo-based iMac. It looked great, but when I installed the Broadcom driver and rebooted, the display had issues. No issues with Linux Mint XFCE and the proprietary driver. Might have just been an anomaly, but we normally install Linux Mint XFCE anyway.

Xubuntu Linux 24.04.1 with a custom background and 2 AppImages on the desktop. The icons for both AppImages only show as a generic gear in a box.

Broadcom BCM43142A wifi plus Bluetooth 4.0 chip
HP 550-029, Intel core i5-4460, 8GB DDR3, 1TB WD Blue HDD. Installing Ubuntu 24.04.1 on it to check if Bluetooth works. Chip apparently supports Bluetooth, but Linux Mint XFCE 22 only saw wifi.
