Disney World is the most magical place on Earth, especially if you're struggling to pass a kidney stone. New research suggests that riding roller coasters can help coax a stone out, Gizmodo reports. A team of researchers took a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 20 times while wearing a backpack containing a 3D-printed, transparent kidney with a stone inside. By tracking how far the stone traveled after each ride as a result of the differing forces, they found that sitting in the back and front of the coaster resulted in a passed stone 64% and 17% of each ride, respectively, as they write today in The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association. The researchers are currently planning more theme park trips to test how a range of coasters affects kidney stone passage.
