For July 4th, I had the honor of DJing one of my favorite events: a decades-long tradition of queers coming together in joy and celebration. It was hot and humid - the kind of air so thick it feels like pudding, but we danced from sunset until near dawn.

This weekend was also the 250th "birthday" of the USA. Perhaps appropriately, we almost forgot about it. Because what's more important: recognizing a nation-state superpower with a deeply complicated history, or celebrating the spirit of the people around us - our community, in all its diverse and chaotic splendor?

For this 5-hour mix, I dug deep in my archives. Some of these tracks were never released digitally. You won't find them on Spotify/Tidal/Apple Music or any other streaming service. I have been holding onto them for 25+ years, waiting for the right time to bring them out. This night was that right time.
