My own reddit post from 15 days ago that was "deleted by Reddit filters", titled "NHS England no longer funding orchidectomy" I finally reached the end of the waiting list for bottom surgery and was referred to the Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital for my consultation, which I attended today. The consultant, Mr Bellringer, told me that the surgery I was waiting for - orchidectomy without vaginoplasty - is no longer funded by NHS England. The last time he was authorised to do the procedure was in March. He said that local urologists might still be allowed to offer it, but consultants can no longer do it. I'm devastated after waiting over a year and travelling across the entire country to even get the consultation just to be told I'm SOL. So take this as a warning if you're on the waiting list for orchi - call whoever referred you and get them to double triple check!
