I prefer frame by frame however whatever is easier is sometimes better

They both look good, but frame by frame looks so good.

Both have their usage, I don't think villanizing one over the other is productive.

Tweening has an energy to it, but Frame by Frame seems bouncier. Tweening is more like "Excited jiggiling" while Frame by Frame is like Jello (in a good way).

I tend to lean to frame by frame, it feels a lot more natural. Although it depends on what you're going for. The tween looks like its for a game.

well, frame by frame looks better to me, but obviously that comes at the cost of more time to make it, and by extension less time to work on other things.

I think I like frame by frame slightly more.

tween looks a bit unnatural

Complex parts should be done frame by frame for more complex movements, and tweening is for those more technical movements like the body!
Zaini · Nov 5
I really prefer the frame-by-frame

Tweeting does look fine, but I can't resist the charm of frame-by-frame :3

The tweening is smoother, but the fbf gives a slightly bouncier look.

Benefits to both, but no one can deny the charm of frame by frame

I like frame-by-frame, but they both look pretty good~
(minor) ragatha is such a silly goober :3 · Nov 5
Tween is easier but frame by frame is better

Hybridized. Smaller and more dynamic parts like the tail, ears, and cheek tufts benefit from the complex motion that can be done via frame by frame. While the body and head, simple and uniform movement is often easier with tweening due to the more analytical approach of movement

Fbf has a better vibe for me idunno. I am biased to squish and stretch fundamentals though xd Maybe if tween was more exaggerated would be better?

Frame by frame definitely looks better, but tweening is a lot faster
Laddi · Nov 5
frame by frame for sure! tweening looks so stiff
Melco Driggs · Nov 5
Personally I prefer frame-by-frame, but tweened still looks good and I wouldn't complain about it.

I like frame by frame ngl

Frame by frame is certainly special, and adds a personal touch that makes it feel more natural. Tweening does work, and is definitely a faster alternative but it's a noticeable difference

Frame by frame looks much more alive to me.

In my opinion I think it depends on the artstyle, in your case frame-by-frame is better.

I appreciate that tweening saves time and can be useful, but personally I prefer the frame by frame animation more because I feel like it has more life to it. Both versions still do look fun though!

Tough choice; I like each of them for different reasons.

Fbf feels more personal I like it a lot more than tweening, even if it's lower fps
Raccoon! (but smol) · Nov 5
I'd almost argue it could be situational. Both are great, though personally I feel the frame-by-frame one gives it a more "artsy" feeling
Chicken Crusade · Nov 5
Frame by Frame is better if you want a more natural look imo
piflle · Nov 5
I almost always think frame by frame is better but for this character specifically I think tweening is better
Thel - Free Palestine · Nov 5
both are good in their own ways!
Mudson · Nov 5
Tween looks simple and smooth for me but frame by frame is just an effort
RetroNekoArt🕵️Team~*Mystery*~ · Nov 5
tbh it is two good methods to bring a certain vibe to a thing so non of it is above the other
NoahTheEmeraldEevee · Nov 5
To be honest i can't choose i like both
Katzentatzentanz · Nov 5
Did bluesky break? Am i insane? are the comments bots? Why are all the comments saying they look similar? Like in the fbf the tail doesnt even move ;-; thats the most fun part to see animated fbf
Goob, Gooey Sea Monster · Nov 5
I love the look of frame-by-frame, but I can understand why many people go for tweening.
Hinoru Kitsune (commissions open) · Nov 5
honestly frame by frame makes it smooth flow however i know tween is used more for the personality it adds
Pedro, Just Pedro · Nov 5
I honestly prefer the frame-by-frame one ;v;
