Carl Jung theorised that each person possesses a "shadow self." This topic has sparked international interest, with some people viewing it with fear while others are genuinely excited. While AI is generally seen as lacking awareness, there is considerable discussion about the pursuit of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). You become aware either in the womb or as an infant, and develop this awareness as you mature. You become aware of objects, your environment, and yourself. This process then becomes automatic. You don’t have to activate it. It will be a constant in your waking state. Your awareness is stimulated through your senses. This includes your visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and somatosensory sensory receptors. Some even believe in extrasensory perception. Your senses deliver information that you then make sense of in your own unique way. You perceive this information subjectively. This subjective perception will be heavily influenced by factors such as culture, learning experiences, and socialisation. You can store your subjective awareness in the form of memories. Your memories can change over time as your recollection becomes more influenced by your evolving perception. You can project your awareness into the future by assessing what you believe may happen. This is influenced by your historical experiences. A risk assessment of your current circumstances, if you will. All of this will be subject to your unique perception of yourself, the world, and whatever it is at the time you are perceiving. I do not believe any two people will be precisely aware of the same perception due to this. Everyone is wonderfully different. It is what makes you the unique individual that you are. Awareness is a reactive state. A state influenced by your experiences, what you think, and how you feel. These could be positive, negative, or neutral. Consider the following questions: - **How is your breathing?** - **What tempo does each breath have?** - **How does each inhale and exhale feel as it enters and exits your body?** Paying close attention to your breathing and heart rate during exercise can help you avoid pushing yourself too hard while also ensuring you are sufficiently challenged. Your body will communicate its limits to you. Next, think about your environment during your movements. Are you outside, at a gym, or at home? Immerse yourself in your surroundings and focus on the moment. Your mind, body, and spirit will appreciate this awareness. Reflect on the timing of your workouts. Do you prefer exercising first thing in the morning, or do you prefer to relieve stress after a long day? Personally, I find that exercising in the morning sets a positive tone for the day ahead, waking up my system and releasing endorphins. Consider what you're moving. Be mindful of every action: each stretch of your arm, every step of your foot. Regardless of your chosen exercise routine, take pleasure in the moment. Enjoy empowering yourself! While movement can sometimes be exhausting, it can also be exhilarating. Delight in the rush of endorphins. Most importantly for your motivation, always keep in mind why you are moving. However, whoever and wherever you are, there are many methods you can use to motivate yourself. How do you motivate yourself? When you are motivated by something you internally hold dear, the drive differs from motivation for an external reward, such as financial compensation for a task. 💥 Intrinsic motivation is feeling motivated because you highly value your performance in a task. 💥 Extrinsic motivation refers to the value you attribute to what you will receive in return.
