The battery is mercifully not dead, though the car's four young occupants soon may be. The moon is full-a single large cosmic headlight, painting terrifying figures a cold white as they stumble around the car. Dozens of undead forms groan and claw feebly at the windows with broken fingernails. It's been hours of this. And with those hours, the panic inside the car has died down to a tired hopelessness, a feeling well-honed by years of torrented Death Cab for Cutie albums.
