My plan for Massachusetts Rep. Lindsay Sabadosa of Northampton has introduced a bill to the State House that would provide tax credits for subscriptions, payroll credits, and advertising credits. It was sent to study in April 2026. If elected, I’ll cosponsor this bill and do my best to put it into effect. If I had to choose - say if there were limited budget and only one of the provisions could go through - I’d support the subscription tax credit, which would not only help newsrooms expand, but also get consumers into the habit of paying for news, which the 2010s broke as free online news became the default way of learning about the world.
