Ginkgo and Oolong, “problem” foster cats who need homes, sit on a Bluey blanket and beg me for the Churu I’m waving over their heads.
Mo, my mother’s indoor-outdoor cat, and sibling to my Dipper/Pirate/Pearl, had to be led away from the garage because of power tool use, so I walked him on the path to the backyard.
The aftermath of Coca being found in distress. No photos before we got things stabilized, cuz action was needed! Coca, the black and white mustache cat, had drooled all over himself until he was dehydrated, and his eye has crusted over. His mouth hung over because the collar caught on it rubbed him raw! This wretch had water forced into him and got a sponge bath, leaving him a different kind of mess.
Katla, the lone girl of the litter - who has a white muzzle and pink stripe on the side of her otherwise-Siamese nose - sits atop the catio’s cat tower with Sunfyre - the largest kitten, whose “snow” is limited to his toes, making him the most Siamese of the four snowshoe kittens - as their tails touch to create a loop of cuteness!
Katla, the lone girl of the litter, turns her head towards me as her body faces away. This results in her looking like a limbless cat vase. As a snowshoe kitten, she’s got a Siamese cat base, but with white patches - such as the white paws that give the kitten type its name! Katla has a white muzzle and a unique feature that is a stripe of pink through one side of her otherwise black nose point.
When kittens were crawling over me, I had to move them to double decker cubby so I could stand up to do a task. The result was this mob pushing and pulling in the second level.

In order for me to stand up, I had to move all kittens climbing on me to the double decker kitty cubby. Snowshoe kittens Katla and Ridley were sleeping on top, and the two cubby spaces below soon erupted into fights as I added more and more kittens who’d been under my feed. Coca the black and white mustache kitten and Falkor the snowshoe kitten are in the front of the cubby entrances, sharing a shoelace braid, as Weird Aunt cat patrols.

(They would immediately sabotage each other, instead of taking turns, so both failed.)

Snowshoe Falkor is doing the same against the back. Snowshoe Ridley is in the center, using everyone as a pillow. Black and white Drake… is sleeping with his head dangling over the side. How can that be comfortable??
A big fluffy dark gray cat rolls over after a nap and bats the toys that were dangling above him, hanging from a table support cuz they were put there where I was cleaning and I never undid it.
Coca the Fear Beast, one of seven kittens of The Mother of Dragons, is sleeping and using his paws as a pillow, despite sleeping in a very fluffy bed. Coca is a black and white kitten whose fur gives him a white fur mustache.
Drake the black and white kitten who has the most white on his face sticks his tongue out after being given medicine.

Everyone is back in the catio inside my mother’s garage, now that the heat wave and smoke wave are over. This view from the outside shows the Weird Aunt tabbico and five of seven kittens staring at me.
Katla the snowshoe kitten has climbed a scratching post and her upside down head looks to the next platform, where her snowshoe brother Ridley waits to punch her in the face.

Katla the exploring kitten tilts her head with curiosity, also showing off her Jackson Pollack nose markings! She’s a snowshoe kitten, so she’s got a Siamese-style coat, but with bonus white patches. On her, it’s the snowshoes and the muzzle. She’s in the process of darkening, so it’s important to photograph all these kitten stages!
My quick and dirty kitten cheat sheet where I drew their heads got printed out by my mother, and she wrote the names she preferred on the paper. Since she changed a couple from my recommendations, I had the paper on the ground as I gave the kittens their labeled Velcro ribbon collar things… so of course the kittens had to check them out! Black and white kitten Coca has identified herself, while snowshoe kitten Katla is stretched over her portrait, with a paw on the portrait of the kitten above and below hers. (Sorry, Sisu and Ridley.)

(It can take many forms, and dragon is one of them.) She probably isn’t self-conscious and looks more adorably goofy than fear-inducing, but close enough’
Various pencil sketches of a red fox vixen, who is in grayscale so the coloring is more accurate than it should be. Otherwise markings are fairly standard, aside from extra dark rings at her knees/elbows, separating the lighter gray closer to her body form the darker gray over the end of her limbs. Same with her tail, tho the dark line and dark tip are close to the end instead of halfway. (I came at this form the non-furry side, so I just don’t have sparkledoggery in me. I used my Momentum cast as test subjects when I learned anthro for my cartooning, and now it’s all I remember how to do!) Some sketches copied fox girl drawings that were on my feed this past day, and they’re the worst ones! Rhenna is a jerk of a scholar who highly distrusts authority and a status mage who defaults to paralysis from zapping you with electric-styled magic. She usually wears a cowl neck dress or a borrowed sundress, one or both cinched at the waist. She has thick wavy hair that has the front bits pulled back and clipped, making the hair fan out around her shoulders. I put in her in a choker to help me in sketching, but I suppose she could wear one.

I think only Nyami’s name is set, and it might shift who gets it, while Jabberz and Melyzin are the shakiest. (Trogdor and Sisu, anyone?) There is a vested interest in one of the boys being a Drac/Drake, so sorry to all Drogon hopers, cuz the two names bump.
Quick and shoddy cartoon diagrams of seven kittens. On the left are the three black and white kittens, and the four snowshoe kittens (basically Siamese types with white spots too) are on the right. Notations for sex and the kittens’ most identifying qualities are added. For the card thing, they are designated as [number of the type] and then the suit that fits best. For example, the bottom left kitten is 3♠️ because there are three black and white kittens, and his muzzle literally has a spade on it! As for the bottom right kitten, mentioned in the post, he’s 4♦️ because there are four snowshoe kittens and he also literally has a diamond on his nose. (Both him and 3♠️ also have a white outline around their main suit marking that also fits the shape, so I can conclusively say their code name is the best possible one!) As for the rest, both ♣️ kittens got the suit more for the two side by side lobes, as I ignore the top one. 3♣️ has the ⚪️⚪️ mustache, and 4♣️ has a ↔️ marking of two white triangles by the nose. 3♦️ has a big giant white diamond from forehead to cheeks to chin. 4❤️ has a black heart on her nose - which could also count as a pink heart around the other heart mark! Check the quoted post’s alt text for sin names. Oh, and the Napoleon was just an example of a possible name, cuz he was the runt but is also one of the more aggressive kittens. It is not a likely outcome, just an easy example of how names get thought up based on the natures of the kittens.
A dilute tortie cat, who almost always stays upstairs for some reason, has walked downstairs and, after she was noticed, has moved to the base of the stairs, where she oh-so-casually gazes up to where I should be giving her treats.
Only the girl of the black and white kittens has a fur pattern set up to look like white socks/mittens on a black base. And only one of the snowshoe kittens actually seems to have the snowshoes. The rest have the white patches on their face, but this girl looks like a normal Siamese-type pattern is coming in, except for snow white feet!
Cuz the rule of three is “three of a theme die together,” I used a pic of three kittens doing a chain of picking on each other. One black and white kitten had hidden in the well formed with me legs as wall around him. Another black and white kitten climbed my legs from the outside and has reached out to strike his brother. The strike himself has his back half crushed under his snowshoe kitten sister as she does her thing of climbing to the nearest peak (this time my knee). (If you want their Seven Deadly Kittens names, cuz there are four more and I got to make the stupid joke while my mom had me kittensitting them, Pride fell down the well, Sloth is using Pride as a stepping stone, and Lust is crushing Sloth as she explores.)
Pearl, the silver and cream tabby shorthair cat, looks up at me, having alerted me with a growl that her fluffy brown tabby brother, Pirate, was encroaching. Pirate is doing a “what?!?” pose, waiting for me to look away.
Pearl got caught shifting her weight to get at the rainbow ball instead of her pineapple or spring toys accessible from the other direction, and I snapped the pic at a moment of her hip twisted up and tail shifted out of sight, so everything from her neck and back just looks like a foil-wrapped potato.

Five of the kittens are on or next to a cat bed. All are looking up, with the flash catching their eyes. The black and white kittens’ eyes glow blue, while the snowshoes’ eyes glow red.
Wrath, one of the Seven Deadly Kittens (the snowshoe with the diamond mark on his nose), decides to switch up swatting at his black and white mom’s flicking tail and go for a big chomp! It didn’t end well for him.
Big Dipper, a large fluffy dark gray cat, looks extremely handsome as he lifts a paw to strike as the dangerous foe that is… where a sheet and a towel overlap.
The large fluffy brothers, Big Dipper (dark gray display cat) and Pirate (brown tabby who likes to burrow), explore the new couch setup while I’m cleaning the puked-on heavy duty couch cover. A simple thin sheet is all that protects the couch right now, with some old towels covering the far end of the couch the sheet couldn’t reach. There is a burgundy “robe blanket” stretched out across the couch, for me to rest under when I sit on the couch. Pirate the burrowing baby found it and did his burrowing thing, with just his head poking out. Big Dipper looks back from the far end of the couch, and he seems to be thinking, “ugh, THIS guy again…”

The “mustached” black and white girl, Envy somehow looks quadruple the size of her siblings on the cat bed. One of the “tiny terrors” (the kittens are the same size, really) is Wrath, the snowshoe kitten with a black diamond on his nose and a white muzzle becoming clear as he slowly darkens into a Siamese-style. The other is Sloth, a black and white kitten whose muzzle is full white, with giant concerned eyes. He used to stay behind in the cubby when the other six kittens started exploring, thus being Sloth in my Seven Deadly Sins joke naming, even tho he’s decently social now. Another snowshoe kitten is in the background on another kitten bed. It’s either Greed or Lust. I think Greed, who began as the runt of the litter and desired to stand out after being the most basic and boring of babies, but has probably already caught up.
Is it good when you finally clean the litter boxes for nine cats and kittens, and a bunch immediately jumped in to relieve themselves - even if it means being side by side with siblings? One kitten has just left after using the box. The tabbico Weird Aunt cat is supervising. (She also was holding it until I installed a new litter box just for her.)
The four snowshoe kittens - still pale, but you can really see the fur starting to darken - with three having climbed atop a small platform for kittens, and the fourth climbing a scratching post next to the platform to join the rest. Left to right, if we stick with the sin names - cuz it’s seven kittens in total - it’s Gluttony, Greed and Wrath on the platform, and Lust climbing to join them. Wrath: The snowshoe kitten male with a diamond on his nose and white diamond around that, before Siamese-style coloring takes over. He’s the runt, and has gone Napoleon Syndrome with it! Greed: Snowshoe kitten whose white on the Siamese-style coat is in two triangles under his eyes. Got compared to Gluttony a lot, and may have gotten a complex as the inferior kitten! Lust: Also known as the explorer gal, so it’s a lust for life deal. She has the pink slash on her nose amid Siamese markings. Not sure where the rest of her white will pop up. Gluttony: The largest kitten (tho this will change as they grow). She is a normal Siamese-style kitten except for white toes. Sloth: The black and white kitten with a lot of white on his face. He was the laziest kitten, so he got the name, even tho he’s getting much bolder. Pride: The black and white kitten with a spade symbol on his muzzle. Of course he thinks that makes him cool! Envy: The black and white kitten who kinda looks like SHE has a mustache. Whoops. Bet she’d like to trade fur patterns with any of her brothers, be it black and white or snowshoe!
The fluff brothers, the gray Big Dipper and brown tabby Pirate, watch the dangling leather shoelace. There is a lot of spinning and diving and running leaps (their sister Pearl is participating, but at the end of the hall and preparing for a sprint) and wall jumping (again, Pearl), but once they get tired they make me do all the work and only go wild when I arc the shoelace as just the right angle!

Pearl, an 11yo medium gray and cream tabby shorthair cat, looks evil as she contemplates her choice of kitties. There’s a hot pink plastic spring, a chartreuse plus lizard that’a meant to be stuffed with catnip (it’s empty, tho), her fav hair band on display, and the “I 🖤 CATS” little cat toy pillow set out for her. But her toy of choice will probably end up being MY BLOOD if the evil fireworks explosions annoy her too much.

In truth, it’s just perspective, and Explorer Girl (pink slash on her nose) is slightly larger than both her snowshoe brothers. (Since I don’t see the obvious white toes of Big Sis, I’m guessing the two seen from behind are the scrawny boys.)

In the background, the black and white mother cat is nursing a few kittens. The kittens are aging into eating on their own, too, so enjoy the luxury while you can, babies.
Oolong the tiny black and white foster kitten (perspective makes him seem the same size, but he’s still baby) launched himself onto a large scratching post while grabbing the toy hanging from the end of a pole and growling - all as fellow foster kitty, the creamsicle Ginkgo, reels back form his nearby sitting position with a look of surprise and concern.

The black and white foster kitten happily sleeps on my legs, trapping me. He wakes me all through the night, then sleeps on me until I nod off in the afternoon. Monster!

A black and white kitten wondering why I’m so boring, cuz I’ve collapsed again from lack of sleep due to him waking me an average of four hours before my alarm nearly every day. He’s been bouncing around the room, knocking over all he could. (There wasn’t much left at this point, tho.) I think he gets his quarantine check tomorrow. If cleared, he’s back with his main foster and will go up for adoption next Saturday.
A black and white foster kitten adds a few thousand new scratches to my arm to celebrate the morning. Also, sleeping in my laundry is a great way to ruin one’s day if you time it wrong.
