An eastern box turtle retracted fully into its shell. It lays upon the soil and the mornings sun hits the black shell, crested with oranges and yellows in a magnificent gradation that mimics the dappled light of the forest floor, from the right.

The zombie is pierced with many arrows about the leg, torso, and head, with an arrow clear through one eye. A short sword sticks through one leg as the other sports a deep gash. Intestines spill out from a hole in the abdominal armor. The guts trail behind the figure as it advances. The forms of grave markers can be seen in the background.
