A photo of box hedges in the Georgian Garden, at the rear of one of the beautiful houses of The Circus, which has been almost completely destroyed by box hedge caterpillars. These are the caterpillars of the box hedge moth which has been accidentally imported into the UK from Asia. I’ve managed to protect my own box hedges but it’s very hard work and you can’t relax. Box hedges are the most important feature in this garden, as they would have been in the C18th, but I suppose there will have to be an alternative species planted.
