previously removed from the atmosphere as the trees grew is irrelevant: A molecule of carbon dioxide added to the atmosphere today has the same impact on radiative forcing-its contribution to global warming-whether it comes from fossil fuels millions of years old or biomass grown last year. When burned, the carbon in those trees immediately increases atmospheric carbon dioxide above what it would have been had they not been burned.

Wood smoke led to child's medical emergency
I live on a small estate of houses which is on a hill, my house sits above my neighbours. In 2022 the neighbours installed a log burner and in the winter smoke from the chimney belched out smoke across my garden because their chimney is level with my garden. No matter if we shut all the windows and doors at night smoke still got into the house.
Subsequently my then 12-year old daughter who is asthmatic couldn't breathe and her inhaler made no difference. She was rushed by ambulance to the nearest hospital where she was on the verge of a tracheotomy to assist her breathing. She with the help of the medics managed to breathe. Diagnosed with Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction caused by smoke inhalation.
Local authorities are toothless and told me we can't legislate for sensitive breathing.
