When recently questioned about the newly imposed tariffs on Canada from the United States, premier Kinew said, while flashing his famous smile, "Single arrows can be broken easily, but a bundle of arrows cannot be snapped."

In Anishinaabe culture, eagle feathers represent acts of valor, spiritual significance, leadership, and sacred responsibility. He wore his headdress when he was sworn in as Premier. Kinew is Canada's favourite Premier, and is loved by Canadians across the nation.

Canadian Canadair CL-415 / De Havilland amphibious water bomber (aka "Super Scooper") firefighting aircraft dropping water onto the wildfire at Colby Fire, Glendora, California, on January 16, 2014. During the 2025 Palisades Fire in Los Angeles, a sister ships from the exact same Quebec fleet were deployed. This aircraft is designed to skim the surface of open water such as an ocean or lake, & scoop over 6,100 liters (1,600+ US gallons) of water in just 12 seconds. They can perform up to 100 drops a day without needing to land at an airport to refill, making them highly prized as the ultimate weapon for fast, initial attacks on quickly spreading fires. This aircraft is operated by an elite & highly trained two-person crew - a pilot & a co-pilot, in this case from the Quebec Government Air Service (Service aérien gouvernemental). Flying just above a stall speed when fully loaded with water, navigating severe mountain turbulence, & handling extreme water drag during high-speed scooping means these civilian pilots are viewed as some of the best low-altitude operators in the world, & the Canadian crews & aircraft are highly sought after globally to fight wildfires. During the Palisades Fire in 2025 Canada sent more than 60 personnel to assist. Alberta deployed 40 wildland firefighters plus 2 agency representatives. British Columbia sent a team of 22 frontline crew members, and 1 agency representative, plus a specialized team of 12 technical staff managing advanced planning, logistics, aviation, and fire weather. Ontario put an additional 300 urban firefighters on standby ready to deploy if conditions worsened. The Canadian crews were Type 1 professional wildland firefighters & technical specialists, mobilised through official government channels via the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC). Some news media & public commentary described them as "volunteers", but they were full-time, trained provincial agency staff, not civilian volunteers.
