That means tariff rates may vary based on the type of item you're shipping, not just the country of origin. For many shops, that means the tariff amount may change, with potentially different percentage rates for different types of products. In some cases, costs may increase. Carriers are expected to start applying the new rates a few days before July 24, likely around July 21. To prepare, we recommend taking these steps: Use the tariffs estimator in Shop Manager to review current courier estimates for items you ship to the US. Since postal rates will soon be calculated more like courier rates, current courier estimates can help you prepare before updated postal rates appear in the estimator on July 21. Based on the estimated courier rates, review and adjust your US-specific listing prices before July 21 so you're ready before carriers are expected to start collecting the updated rates. Check the tariffs estimator again on July 21, when updated postal estimates are expected to be finalized. Review your item details and update any HS codes that may be inaccurate. Accurate HS codes are especially important because tariff rates may vary by item type. We know changing trade requirements can be difficult to navigate. "indyLouWho2 June 09, 2026 at 11:24 AM No one should be surprised by this: Starting July 9, 2026, per Etsy's legal policy for sellers, section 1.c.9., every item shipped into the US must use DDP - no exceptions. Loss of seller protection is likely only one of the ways sellers will be affected, although I doubt that Etsy will strictly enforce this immediately for everything. (only seller protection is mentioned explicitly, so far) Shops that have other policy issues should expect careful scrutiny on this point right away, however. While Etsy already had DDP shipping in the search algorithms, the weight of that factor will likely now increase. Other changes are likely coming as well. For example, I expect Etsy to make shipping prices an even bigger part of the algorithms now, since they don't want tariffs added to the shipping costs, and have made that clear from the beginning. For those who don't have access to affordable DDP options, check to see if Etsy's label integrations now have something to help you, as they added several new ones recently, including some with DDP: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/1266789873413 I will be taking a look through all of the policies to see what else changed - hope to get a full post out by the end of the day."

Any filing would need to go through the carrier broker, and that process requires ACE portal registration and banking enrollment on the broker’s side. For postal shipments, CAPE doesn’t currently apply. Postal shipments are submitted as a CSV file rather than as an ACE entry, and an ACE entry is a prerequisite for CAPE. CBP hasn’t announced a postal refund pathway yet. We’re watching CBP’s guidance closely and will let you know as soon as there’s a clear, actionable path for refund claims. I just received a shocking email from Etsy stating that 1,398 of my USPS labels were adjusted, totaling nearly $5k in additional charges. What's even morning concerning is that these adjustments are apparently going back up to 5 years. I'm trying to understand how this is even possible. Initially (Saturday morning when I first noticed), I was on chat for 40 minutes while the agent kept thanking me for my patience. No resolve. I do use ads and stats to drive weekend traffic and sales because this is when I have the most free time... but this weekend is a bust. Not great for limited seasonal stuff. Even though the “everywhere else” prices were entered as tax-inclusive, Etsy seems to treat them as tax-exclusive and then adds VAT again during checkout. As a result: EU prices appear around 15–20% higher than intended The cart shows an additional “Tax” line (for example, 40 USD + 7.60 USD tax = 47.60 USD) The listing page still displays “Tax included (where applicable),” which is inconsistent with the calculation It also seems that the EU prices are being derived from the US prices instead of the “everywhere else” column, so the regional pricing is not being applied at all. This directly affects sales because EU buyers see inflated prices and often abandon their carts. I already contacted Etsy Support and was told the issue was forwarded to the engineering team. Since this appears to be a wider technical problem, I wanted to share it here so other sellers and staff can track it as well. Example of the issue: My set “everywhere else” price: 40 USD (tax included) Displayed price in Germany: 47.60 USD (40 USD + 19% VAT added again) Could you please share if there is any update or estimated time for a fix? This is the response UPS gave, which netParcel relayed to me: - Following the recent update to import regulations, U.S. Customs is carefully reviewing all shipments entering the United States. Packages exported to the United States must now remain in Canada until customs clearance. If a shipment cannot be cleared within 5 business days, it will be returned to the sender. We are currently at maximum capacity, and we are trying to do our best in resolving all brokerage issues. However, due to recent tariffs changes and the elimination of the De Minimis value, this has resulted in unprecedented volume. To prevent this in the future please advise shippers to always provide a complete and detail commercial invoice with HS codes and importers contacts details.

Thanks for your time, in this case currently, the regulatory operating fee is still active, and there is not any update about refunds or removing this fee. The fee should be removed immediately since Etsy no longer has to pay this digital services tax, and we also deserve full refunds on everything we have paid since last year. Creativity Standards Clarification by Community Manager thatregina Community Manager yesterday Hi all - We understand that there is some confusion about recent changes to the language in our Creativity Standards, so we wanted to jump in to provide a bit more clarity. As you know, we introduced our Creativity Standards last summer to help our community better understand and comply with our policies, emphasizing the role of the seller in every item allowed on Etsy. This continues to be our goal, so when we heard from you that some of our policies could be clearer, we made a few adjustments to the language in our Creativity Standards and added new Help Center content. We have not introduced new policy categories–we’ve added more detail to a few existing policy areas-like craft and party supplies-where we commonly see violations and confusion when listings are removed. For example, we wanted to make it clearer that you must use your own original designs, rather than reproducing designs that you did not create yourself. This has always been our intention as a creative marketplace for original items. Our goal in further clarifying policy language like this is to help sellers avoid potential violations and flags. As always, when we identify a listing that violates our policies, we notify the seller when we remove it. We're continuously working to make those communications more detailed and clear. Keeping our marketplace special is a team effort, and we appreciate your feedback!
How to Accept Payments as a Seller in India Sellers in India can now open new shops on Etsy. Currently, new shops opened in India can only sell internationally. There is a one-time $10 USD set-up fee that must be paid during the onboarding process. Editor's Note: Updated June 5 After the launch of Processing Profiles on May 21, we discovered an issue that caused processing time details to be removed from a small percentage of listings. This means that for those listings, buyers were not seeing estimated delivery dates and “Ship By” dates were missing in Shop Manager. We know how important this information is so we’ve turned off Processing Profiles while we troubleshoot. We sent an email about this issue to all sellers on June 5. For most sellers, we were able to restore the processing times you’d set for your listings as of May 20. Quickly review your Shipping settings to ensure everything looks correct. If any processing times are missing or incorrect, you can add or update them in your Shipping settings. We’ll let you know when you can use Processing Profiles to set processing times for your item variations again.
