The image shows a standing stone, or menhir, known as the Old Man of Gugh. Gugh is a small inhabited island, which is a part of the groups of islands and islets known as the Isles of Scilly.
The Isles of Scilly lie about 28 miles southwest of the coast of mainland Cornwall. There are six inhabited islands, including Gugh, and around 140 smaller off-islands that are mostly home to birds.
The Old Man of Gugh, as he has become known, is roughly 2.7m (9ft) tall and can be found close to the base of Kittern Hill. In the image, you can see the menhir is leaning towards the centre of the photo. In the background, you can see the sea, separating this island from its neighbour Saint Agnes.

The image depicts Tregeare - an Iron Age hillfort, near Saint Kew in Cornwall, England. It shows a landscape of fields with small patches of woodland at the bottom left & right corners of the image. In the center of the photo, there are two dark green circles within one another. These are the the ancient earthen ramparts of the hillfort, which have grown over with plants over time. Just emerging from the bottom of the outer ring, there is an additional incomplete rampart, which forms a curved enclosure of sorts.
