Another example is they placed a tax cap on SSA of $184,500. Those making a million dollars pay the same as those making under $200,000, which means they are paying far less of a share of their income into the system. Here to speak on behalf of the domestic bunnies and small birds and squirrels. For the bunnies who are often cruelly cast out into the woods on the greenbelt and forced to eke out an existence of fear and hunger as they are often predated upon by feral cats and stray dogs. Bunnies cannot survive the winter without our assistance and that mostly consists of hay for warmth and food which is 90% of their diet. We have seen ppl cruelly run them over, pick them up and torture them by their ears and poison them. I am disgusted by the fact that we allow ppl to buy these buns as pets, then release them into the wild where they have little chance of survival and in my experiences live thru one summer before they are killed in the winter. Out of 10 this winter who live in the woods behind my house, only four made it to spring. I witnessed two killed by dogs and 2 by cats. Also this ordinance is saying it wants to provide enforcement while not enforcing other ordinances like the leash laws, where we see many folks allowi g their cats to roam free. Biologists already have concluded that cats are the biggest driver of wild animal predation. The little chickadees who also frequent our homes cannot survive without our bird feeders in the winter, same for the hummingbirds who need the nectar neighbors provide to make it back on their long journey south for winter. As to feeding pidgeons, it should be noted that, until the advent of modern communication pigeons are fully domesticated animals and once considered mans best friend. They also require our assistance to survive in the harsh weather and again it is cruel to remove food for them as we destroy natural habitats for these creatures to exist. I ask that we make exception for these creatures regarding feeding. To just allow them to starve and freeze to death is unecessarily cruel. Either do something about the ppl who cruelly leave the bunnies out or keep allowing caring neighbors to continue feeding them.
