The sun is just about to rise piercing the sky with a brilliant gradient of red, orange, yellow, green, bright blue, indigo, and then the deep deep blues and blacks of the night sky that stretches back across the sky.
A wall of trees at the edge of a creek in Annapolis are still holding onto their leaves that are a mix of greens, yellows, browns and reds. In front of the trees is a wintry mix of rain and some very fat snowflakes as the temperature is on the cusp of wanting to be freezing but also not wanting to.

On the other side is a shallow depth of field but it is still noticeable that there is a lab behind it with blue cabinets and a black top like a school’s science lab. Inside the case is a small glass vial with what looks like dust or dirt but it is very black. Like Black 2.0 that you buy to paint stuff, or the blackest black that Anish Kapoor owns the rights to. Anyway, that dust is the pulverized remnants of the asteroid Bennu after it’s been steeped in water like tea to analyze what the asteroid is made out of.

On the floor level are pieces of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope that are being built and assembled though work is paused because it’s lunch time. In the center of the photo is the telescope mirror that light from stars and galaxies will enter and refract into the sensor.
