Oh no, young Hayden Pedigo (hereafter referred to as “Artist”), this is not a strange dream. This agreement is an actual honest-to-goodness contract between yourself and Sub Pop Recording & Merchandise Industries (hereafter referred to as “Label”). This shall be good, real good, and awesome — in the true sense of the word — after all is said and done. Fruitful too. None of us can wait, thus we enter into said agreement on this date, February 17, 2026. This contract shall apply to all of the known and unknown universe(s), save Whippany, New Jersey, from now until the end of time. When we drive past the old high school where they light the torches at sundown, flames two feet high licking and blackening the brick, paint chips falling behind the bushes where my sister found the knife that, for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows: 1. Term: (a) Artist grants to Label a whole host of new recordings made available via LP (Vinyl Long-Player), CD (Compact Disc), CS (Tape Cassette), DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), VHS (Video Home System Tape Cassette), MD (MiniDisc), MP3, ringtones, and much more. Also, the Hayden Pedigo (or HPT™) customizable wigs, mustaches, Van Dykes, beards, ad infinitum. Furthermore, Special HPT™ blankets, socks, bloomers, and knickers. (b) Label shall pay to Artist: (i) the sum of $777 Gorgeous Dollars; (ii) a 1 ft (12" × 12") plot of Village Lake, formerly known as Alcohol and Drug Abuse Lake in Richland County, South Carolina, United States (iii) lifetime supply of Free Passes to Ol’ Bernard’s Roller Rink & Organ Honkers. (c) Sub Pop will “never” ask you to perform “covers” of original songs by: (i) Def Leppard (ii) Dokken (iii) The Doors (iv) Van Halen (v) Tank Top Party Lads.
