The morning Kye woke, a miracle had taken place. Not the flash fire and holy rain of scripture-but in the palm sized fruit she now held in her hand. Precious, painted golden orange in the evening glow. Outside her bedchamber windows, Antilya's sky filled its cup like summer wine. Heedless of the stars it was missing, of the horror unfolding below its firmament.
