Every time an ongoing media property finally reveals a heavily telegraphed plot development that people complain "came out of nowhere" it makes me think even more that maybe Knights Of The Old Republic 1 was the greatest to ever do it when they followed the Big Twist up immediately with a soft tinted supercut of flashbacks to all the lines and scenes that foreshadowed it throughout the entire game. Do that. Beat your audience over the head with their own media illiteracy. Please, we need it.

Last weekend my friend's punk band came to my city for the first time to do a gig so I went along cause I hadn't seen said friend in years and I love her music. The show was fantastic and afterwards after catching up with her and showing her my whole new gender I got gathered up in a gaggle of fans who were going out to afterparty at a pub. And you know that was great except for the part where I started talking to all these other fans in the pub and it gradually dawned on me that my friend's band's clout is now all centred on Instagram and Tiktok, and that means that almost everyone I spoke to was like 20-22. 25 at the maximum. Then you've got my 31 year old ass just awkwardly hanging out with everyone else having not realised this at all. And mind given the target demographics of the band the vast majority of these people were tgirls on oestrogen and like, that just throws off all age estimation so I was consistently wrong guessing their ages cause I had no visual cues and they were wrong guessing mine, so it was just this horrible dawning realisation that I was actually surrounded by like, incredibly recent unchildren who were rapidly disillusioning me of any notion that they weren't going to bring the drama and yet couldn't be immediately identified by sight because of their incredibly age-ambiguous appearance. I think there was like, one elderly guy who'd been at the gig there but nobody paid him much attention. It probably would've been nice of me to say something but I'd narrowly missed hitting him in the face with my handbag hours earlier and I felt too guilty. So I just hung out and chatted with these messy ex-teens. It was a lot of fun for a night but I don't think that would have continued if it had gone on any longer. It would have felt really weird after a while. Anyway that's a thing that happened to me in real life last weekend but it's also what I think it must feel like to be Ragatha DigitalCircus all the time.

Tumblr post from me, @clevercrumbish: In theory I do sometimes think that like, egg speculation and forcefem jokes and stuff like that can sometimes be a little overbearing and pushy and sometimes even a little misdirected in a way we ought to think about more but in practice any time I try to put this principle into action and step in to say "come on girls, leave him alone" the guy in question always comes out with some shit like "thanks Alexa, they're always so mean to me when I'm just trying to do my normal cisgender hobby of making OCs that are basically just me as a girl and getting kind of sad for some reason when I look at them" and I'm just like come on man don't do this to me.
