The animation tracks ocean temps in the upper 1,000 ft of the equatorial Pacific, August 2025–June 2026. Last fall, cool La Niña waters dominated—but by late November, a strong, deep wave of warmth began pushing east across the basin. By late January, it surfaced in the eastern Pacific. (2/3)
