A young mind, drawn to a tale,
of a beast, half-man, half-beastly frail.
A creature of shadows, a mythical sight,
a symbol of darkness, a terrible plight.

Yet, as I grew, a shift took hold,
a deeper understanding, a story untold.
Beyond the monster, a soul I did see,
a victim of fate, trapped eternally.

A heroic kill, turned merciful slaughter.
A caring sister, a scornful daughter.
A mother of disgust, turned hated father.
A God of power, a god not after.
