A friend of mine won this NEC PC-8300 at an auction. Really curious if anybody knows what kind of weather related activities these may have been used for. #VintageComputing

I replied over on Fedi - not sure which one you monitor. I know this machine pretty well. Check if it has option ROMs installed under trapdoors on the bottom panel.

Likely reading the weather off of a weather station on the roof connected to it.
