Dw3 was an odyssey. In late January I embarked on the DSEV Odysseus with a brand new Caspian, with a few ideas of how the expedition would look like, as I had already been out deep in the black numerous times, and also on DW2 in 3305. I was afraid that, with many fleet carriers dispatched in the galaxy now, we wouldn't feel as isolated as before. However nothing had prepared me for what I was about to experience. The views I have seen were wonderful, I've seen red plants growing in red soil under a red sun, I've plunged in the core of a white dwarf, I've raced on the slopes of rocky worlds along twenty other commanders, been in the darkest of clouds where even my night vision couldn't help me. It wasn't peaceful on my side of the screen either: in February my computer began to experience trouble and I had to have it fixed which grounded me for two weeks. When I finally got it back I found out that the technician had opened Elite to test the performances, crashed my ship and selected a stock Mandalay on the rebuy screen. Frontier saved me by restoring my Caspie and I had to hurry to catch up. In March I finally found a new place and I had to plan my moving, which also delayed me. However that means I also got my copawlot back and I'm so happy. Not revealing the next waypoint until a week before was, and this may be a hot take, the best idea the DW3 team has had. This allowed me to meet commanders in Discord and in game who are lovely, I shared pictures, I participated in mass jumps, in flybys in canyons, in SRV shenanigans... These 5 months are unforgettable, and I will wear the DW3 badge with pride. CMDR Judson Crandall, Deep Space Network
